It is with great sorrow that the family of Etta Waits Helms announces her passing on June 11th at Atrium Union surrounded by her family. Etta was born on Feb. 10, 1956 to the late J.E. and Ruth Waits. Etta is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 44 years, Don Helms, her sister Dora Lee Catoe, her son Robby Helms, daughters Amy Tomberlin and Teresa Beverley, grand-daughters Kristen Daily and Brooke Tomberlin, grandsons Alek Harwell, Joshua Kelly and Jacob Kelly, her five great grandchildren and her bestie Judy Snyder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Johnnye Pelfrey.

Etta was a selfless, loving person who took it upon herself to be there for anyone in need and so she decided to be a donor to Lifeshare Carolinas. Within hours of her passing another person's life was saved by her donation. A memorial service will be held in the near future to celebrate this special lady.

In lieu of flowers she wished that donations be made in her name to The American Heart Association.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
