Mrs. Doris "Resa" Marie Melton, 58, went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025. She was born on December 28,1966, in Macon, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Melton Sr., her mother, Marie Lyles, and her son, Stephen Melton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 2006 Willis Long Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Rev. Neal Workman will be officiating.

Doris is survived by her son, Gerald Melton Jr. (Amber), sister, Kathy Alford (Mike), brother, Billy Kirkley (Barbara), and grandchildren, Craven, Kelly, GW, and Olive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care Union, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
