In addition to her parents, Donna leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of nearly 18 years, Mitchell Murphy Sr.; her loving children, Michael "Tripp" McKee and Hannah McKee Autry (Steven); stepchildren, Mandy Conway, Mitchell Murphy Jr. (Samantha), and Samantha Conway; step-grandchildren, Jayce Conway, and Juliana Conway; brother, Albert Barclay Jr.; sister, Cheryl Plyler (Doug); and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Donna is preceded in passing by her brother, Richard Barclay and stepdaughter, Candace Conway.
Donna was a warrior and fought hard with every cell in her body while in the ICU. She was tough as nails and would fight everyday just to have another moment with her children. Above all else, Donna loved her children fiercely. There was not a day that went by that she didn't call her children to check in. She worried about her children above her own needs and would do absolutely anything to protect them. When Tripp and Hannah were younger, Donna was joyously present at every pageant, race, and football game; she was their biggest fan. To know Donna was to love her. She had an infectious smile and laugh that would light up any room. She was a firecracker and was not afraid to be brutally honest when it was needed. Anyone who knew Donna couldn't help but fall in love with her sweet southern twang. She had a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met. She opened her home to anyone she loved and would give her last dollar to make sure that those she loved were taken care of. Donna's love for others led her to be an advocate and spokesperson for domestic violence. Because of her willingness to open her heart to others about domestic violence she was able to save the lives of numerous women. Donna also worked at Plaza Appliance Mart selling kitchen appliances in the greater surrounding area for 25 years. She loved her customers and Plaza family deeply.
Donna loved to travel and had many lifelong friends that she loved deeply. She loved going to the Panthers Football games and singing to her favorite country music and Motown songs. More than the that, she loved her animals. She had two dogs herself, Blue and Chewy, and a nearly 21-year-old turtle, Plunkets, and 5 grand-dogs who she loved like her own grandbabies.
She will be forever missed and deeply cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
