On Saturday, May 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, Kimberly "Dana" Dean entered God's heavenly kingdom. Dana was loved and cherished by husband, Stephen (22 years), daughter Tammy (Calob) McLaughlin and granddaughter, Sadie Mae McLaughlin. She was a special sister to Terri (Hal) Dunlap and brother Robbie (Tonya) Huggins. She is survived by nephew Colson (Maggie) Dunlap of Stanfield, NC, Aunt Katherine Howard of Marshville and Uncle Jimmy (Lois) Hubbard of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Dana was born in Mecklenburg County but was raised in Union County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Bobby and Delores Huggins of Wingate, NC. Her grandparents were the late James and Margaret Hubbard of Charlotte and the late Curtis and Kate Huggins of Marshville.

Dana was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing and was recognized for her educational achievements as well as her passionate patient care. Her career began at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and completed her career at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, NC. Dana took so much pride in providing her patients with special care and endeavored to provide each patient and family a professional and compassionate experience.

Dana had a love for all animals, especially her fur babies Harley and Chloe, her horse Stryder, miniature donkeys Zach and Amos, and so many other chinchillas, cats and animals.

Dana's most cherished accomplishments were her nursing career, marriage, and family, especially her daughter, Tammy and the latest addition, granddaughter Sadie Mae. The time she shared with sweet Sadie brought so much joy and happiness to "Grandma".

Dana attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monroe where the visitation will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 3:00pm and will be followed by the service at 4:00pm. Interment will be on Thursday, May 25 at 10:00am at Old Mother Church Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC.
