Obituary

Carolyn Sue Goodwin Schorr, of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday evening, February 15 at Atrium Hospice House of Monroe. Carolyn, one of six children of her late parents, Ruth Thomason and Samuel C. Goodwin, was pre-deceased by two brothers, H. Clark Goodwin, and Dr. Donald R. Goodwin, both of Monroe. Carolyn is survived by a brother, Sam S. Goodwin (Wanda) of Monroe, Ruth Ann Goodwin of Albemarle and Cindy Goodwin Fisher (Jim Hickam) of Charlotte.

Carolyn was a 1963 graduate of Monroe High School and held a Master's degree in Biology from UNC-Charlotte. After teaching biology at Independence High School and Central Piedmont Community College, both in Charlotte, her interests turned to Real Estate. She and her husband of 23 years, Barry Schorr, opened their brokerage firm on Beech Mountain and Carolyn found her place as a successful agent in helping people find their mountain homes. This position also allowed for her pursuing many artistic talents of painting, creating home décor and jewelry making. We would be amiss not to mention her love for her Wheaten Terriers, Molly and Rory.

Along with her husband, Barry, Carolyn is survived by a son, Wynn Scott Teal and grandson, Andrew Hannah Teal; step daughter, Kristin Schorr Bedell (Mark); step grandchildren, Alissa Kate, Samantha Jane and Kyle Jacob Bedell; stepson, Brian D. Schorr and many nieces and nephews.

A "Celebration of Life honoring Caroline" will be shared with family and friends this Spring on her beloved Beech Mountain.
