Mrs. Carolyn Lucille (Kennedy) Helms, 82, of Marshville passed away peacefully at home with her two beloved feline companions by her side on January 2, 2022. Born in Stanly County on November 17, 1939 to the late Hugh and Dallie Poplin Kennedy. Lucille met Mr. Robert (Bobby) Fulton Helms and married in March of 1961. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00pm at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Marshville, North Carolina. The family will receive family and friends after the service at 2917 Bundy Williams Road, Marshville, North Carolina 28103. Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert (Bobby) Fulton Helms and sister Shelby Jean Kennedy Freeman. Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Gale Helms and husband Heriberto and son David Olander Helms and wife Paula. Her grandchildren Misty Gaddy (Dustin Parker), Travis Plyler (Adrienne), Ben Helms (Mandy), Ana Gonzalez (Luis) and Michael Helms. Great grandchildren Kassidy, Brayden, Harleigh, Abbey, Zayr (Chapis), Harper, Blaz and Christian. Brothers Bennett and wife Irene and Malcolm Kennedy.
