Obituary

Brenda Faye Turner passed away at McWhorter Hospice House on December 24, 2023.

Brenda was born to Ora Delbert and Genevieve Lenora (Eskew) Black November 18, 1947 in Eldorado, IL. She graduated from Eldorado High School in Illinois. Brenda married the love of her life, Roy Turner, February 18, 1966. They lived most of their life in and around Raleigh and Eldorado, IL. Brenda worked at various jobs throughout her life, including making American Flags, and driving a school bus, but if you asked her what her occupation was, she would tell you she was a police dispatcher. Her last place of employment was as a cashier at Harris Teeter. Roy and Brenda were drawn to North Carolina to be near family in 1996. Brenda loved being a mom and a "Mawmaw". She loved her granddaughters very much, and was very proud of them.

Brenda was proceeded in death by her husband, Roy, and her parents, Ora and Genevieve Black, who divorced when she was a baby.

Brenda is survived by her son Marty (Cathy) Turner, and two beloved granddaughters Emma Turner (Rob Bultman), Bekah Turner.

The family would like to offer their deep appreciation to Hospice of Union County for their support, especially Ashley, Kim, Carl, Maggie, Larry and others who cared for her at home as well as the compassionate staff at McWhorter House. Thank you to Siler Presbyterian Church family for their prayers, love, support, visits and food.
