Zackary Ryan Hickman

September 3, 1998 – September 11, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Zackary Ryan Hickman, who left us far too soon on September 11, 2025, at the age of 27.

Born on September 3, 1998, Zackary brought warmth, sarcasm, humor, and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His generous heart, unwavering loyalty, and unique ability to light up a room left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Zackary loved his family, friends, good food, anime, Dungeons & Dragons, video games (most notably League of Legends), board games, and card games—especially Magic: The Gathering. He was the kind of person who would give his last dollar or the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

Zackary received his formal education from Union County Public Schools in North Carolina, graduating from Porter Ridge High School in 2018.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Hilda Ann Hall Crowley; brother, David Hickman; and paternal grandfather, Jasper Hickman, Sr.

He is survived by his loving parents, Darlene and Rayford Rahmings, Sr.; his siblings: Zoe Hickman, Lenora (Nathan) Moore, Jonathan Hickman, Rayford Rahmings, Jr., Alex Rahmings, Jason Hickman, and Jalen Hickman; nephew: Christopher Harley; nieces: Molly Brill and Kynslei Hickman; honorary grandmother: Diane Morgan and a host of extended family and dear friends. Zackary will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Zackary's life will be held on September 20, 2025, at The Event Studio, 103 Wilkes Drive Monroe, NC, 28110 with services beginning at 11:30 am.
