Obituary

Willie Lee Watts (88), born on April 9, 1936, of Monroe, NC passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. He was the oldest son of the late Johnny and Mae Rollins Watts formally of Pageland, SC.

He retired after 30 plus years at Springs Mill. He loved fishing, gardening, taking care of dogs, ponies, goats, and chickens.

Willie is survived by his wife, Hazel Rorie Watts, they have been married for almost 50 years (June 7, 1974). Sons, Scott Watts (Ann), Robbie Plyler (Debbie), Billy Plyler (Chandra); Daughters, Donna Simpson (Chip), Karen Dorton (Mike), Candie Porter (Fred); 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Along with his parents, He is proceeded in death by, son Ricky Plyler; Grandson, Lacy Watts, Great Grandson, Cody Simpson, Daughter- in- law, Yana Plyler; Brothers, Darrel, and Carson Watts; Sisters, Lucille Funderburk, Hattie McManus, and Martha Wright.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM on Tuesday May 7, 2024, at Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery, located at 3530 Hwy 601 N, Pageland, SC 2972. The family will receive friends at Solid Rock Baptist Church 2021 Claude Austin Rd, Monroe, NC 28112, Tuesday evening May 7, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
