Mr. Wilbur Hough Sr. entered eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2021. He was the son of the late Flossie Hough. He was raised by his late grandma and uncle, Susie Jennings, and Willie Jennings.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 11:00am until 7:00pm at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.
Wilbert accepted Christ at an early age where he attended multiple churches in Union County. He maintained his faith and relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wilbur showed his love for Christ by the way he treated people. He had a heart of gold and sis anything he could to help anyone in need. He was very popular to Union County families, where he was known as, Bilbo. He had so many friends that enjoyed being in his presence.
Wilbur was educated in Union County Public Schools. Wilbur was employed by the City of Monroe and Tyson Foods for several years. He worked as maintenance for Icemorelee Apartments some years ago. He also worked for many years for Bruce Williams. Wilbur had an interest in being outside. He enjoyed the many aspects of nature. He enjoyed cooking as well.
Wilbur leaves behind to cherish his memories, the mother of his children, Willette Funderburk; his son, Wilbur Hough Jr. (Gail), two beautiful daughters, Carolyn Huntley (Louis), and Regina Funderburk (James); one brother, Frank Thomas; six grandchildren, Antonio Hough, April Convington (Torey), Jessica Hough, Corey Massey, Jamarius Hough (Tara), and Donte' Hailey – all of Union County; a host of great-grandchildren; two very true friends, Jessie Davis and Bruce Williams; a very special friend, Deborah Thomas. Wilbur will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to share his 70 years of life.
