On Thursday, August 26, 2021, Thomas Ray Hunter, A loving Husband, Father and PawPaw passed away at age 50. Tom was born on December 1, 1970, in Monroe, NC. He was preceded in passing by his daughter, Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Amy; daughter, Natashia; step-daughters, Julia and Kayla; step-son, Jonathan and multiple grandchildren, Mathieu, Jericho, Allston, Lollton and Talon. He was a man of many talents. Self-made at an early age as a renovation and addition specialist and for over 20 years crafted beautiful custom wine cellars with Shonts Home Improvement Inc. Tom was always the life of the party and the biggest kid around. Being a part of Hometown Heroes allowed him to live his passion of "Big kids helping little kids". To know him was to love him and he always had the room laughing (or he would laugh at himself even harder). He was the one to have never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. Tom always made time to ride his motorcycles, even accomplishing his goals of traveling with loving friends to Alaska, Maine and out of the country with his wife. A service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 4th, 2021 at Immanuel's Church, 6010 Mill Grove Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
