Obituary

Steven Micah Lee passed away on August 12 because of complications brought on by Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever compounded by Covid 19. He was born July 1, 1960, in a Charlotte hospital and never resided outside of his beloved state of North Carolina. What can be said about a life taken so abruptly without a chance for goodbyes to family and loved ones alike? Can words express the true reality of a Life well lived in the few short paragraphs herein. The true meaning of his life is that he loved people and that love was returned in many folds. He cherished relationships with a deep passion and always had a kind if not humorous word to say to anyone regardless of the situation. Never meeting a stranger, Micah was a people person to the very soul of his being. Micah was an avid hunter and shared many Fall mornings in the woods with his hunting buddies. Probably more for the comradery than for the sport, he cherished his time in nature. The quiet mornings spent in the woods gave him a sense of the Divine God that he served. Also, never passed up a golf game and played it to his best ability each time out. He loved the challenge. Micah graduated from Garinger High School with the class of '78. He lettered in Basketball as a point guard for the team. He went on to play in college at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg on scholarship where he spent 2 years before returning to work on his career. During that time, he continued his education at UNCC where he achieved his BA Degree in Business Administration. During his work career, Micah served several banks with his expertise in relationship management. He was always one of the top commercial lenders in each institution because of his gift of speech and no-nonsense skill of just listening. After a long career in that business, a different path was opened to him that was especially rewarding. He became a Director of Development for the NC Baptist Children's Home. This brought him closer to the God that he served since infancy and gave him the chance to reach out with that love in many ways. Whether at a social event or in the pulpit on a Sunday, he was always ready and willing to share with others what God was all about. Micah Loved God with all his being. Many Bible studies and early mornings in prayer brought him to that closeness. Heaven is a brighter place today and our world a little dimmer due to his passing. He knew that God reigns supreme and has a plan for us all. If he were writing this, I am sure that his one piece of advice would be to live each day to your fullest. Life is not guaranteed with a timestamp. We must do our best daily to reach out to others in kindness and show them that everyone is relevant. That is the Micah that his friends knew. He leaves behind Evie Lee, a wife and best friend of nearly 40 years whom he loved dearly. Also, a daughter, Randi Lee, that he adored greatly as she grew to a wonderful young woman. Dancing was and is her passion and together Micah and Evie sacrificed many weekends to make that dream a reality for her. He was always working behind the scenes to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. Young dancers from coast to coast flocked to him as if he were their own because no matter what was going on his priority was to make everyone feel confident and supported. He was preceded in death by his father Cladie Allen Lee, Sr. of Charlotte. He is survived by his wife, Yvette (Evie) Randall Lee and his daughter Randall (Randi) Morgan Lee. His mother Alice Eudy Lee of Charlotte, his brother Cladie Allen Lee, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Bessemer City, his sister Olivia Watts and husband Jim of Huntersville. His in-laws Teri and Jeff Lindsay of Huntersville and T. W. Randall, Jr. and Angie Randall of Bakersville. He is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews that he loved to spend time with. A service to celebrate his life will be offered at a later date to be determined. The family appreciates any donations to NC Baptist Children's Home.
