Steve John Schlosser, 76, of Wingate, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Steve was preceded in death by his father Steve Sr, and mother Betty Schlosser. His sister Janet Zielinski and brothers Bobby and Jerry Schlosser.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Sunday, August 25, 2024, in the Winston Chapel of Holland Funeral Service 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC 28112 with burial with military honors to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Steve is survived by his loving companion of 23 years, Patricia Busse, and the best fur baby ever, Ms. Lilah Belle. He is also survived by his son, Greg (wife Erin), granddaughter Luella and grandson Oliver Schlosser of Denver CO., his sister, Carol Bezjak of Austintown, OH, and brother, Jimmy (Norma Schlosser) of Kettering, OH. Nieces Michelle, (Bob Courtney) Jackson OH, Lisa (Kieth Clegg) Diamond, OH. Brother-in-law, Ronnie Zielinski, who lovingly called him Bubba.

Steve graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1966.He worked in the Steel Mill for many years. He also worked for Frito Lay in sales for 27 years, then he retired to North Carolina. He was a 33rd degree Mason and Past Master. Steve served in the United States Navy during the time of the Vietnam War.

Steve loved to go fishing whether it was at Lake Erie, or smaller lakes in Ohio and North Carolina, but his best time was when he spent his vacation twice a year at Ocean Isle Beach with his best friend, the late Jerry Scott, along with many other friends he made there. They are probably telling some great fishing stories now. He loved fishing so much he started working for the City of Monroe as a Lake Inspector.

There will be a celebration of life for Steve at a later date in Youngstown, Ohio and will be announced by Holland Funeral Service.
