Sherrell "Bubba" Randolph Simpson Jr., 56, passed away January 5, 2022. He was born April 8, 1965 to Betty Simpson and the late Sherrell Simpson Sr. in Union County, NC. Bubba is preceded in passing by his grandparents, Faire and Randolph Simpson; brother-in-law, Brian Breneman; and sister-in-law, Karen Simpson.
The family will receive friends from 3:30pm until 4:45pm followed by a memorial service at 5:00pm on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Holland Funeral Service.
Bubba is survived by his children, Josh Simpson and his children, Macklin Simpson and Rhiannon Simpson; Mason Simpson and his fiance, Ivy Will, and Megan King; mother, Betty Simpson; mother of his children; Lori Phillips; brothers, Dwayne Simpson (Pam), Dennis Simpson; sisters, Sherry Breneman, Gloria Haney (Jeffrey); nieces and nephews, Marcus Breneman (Karen), Matthew Breneman, Leah Croom (Tim), Reece Simpson (Leslie), Nikki Simpson, Kim Lanza, Jessica Haney, Jordyn Haney; great-nieces and great-nephews, Bryce Breneman, Brook Breneman, Alexis Breneman, Emily Breneman, Anna Croom, Caleb Croom, Kinsley Osborne, Brandon Osborne, Noah Simpson, and Kellen Simpson.
Bubba was a man who loved his family. He stayed involved in his children's lives and even coached their baseball and football teams and was a proud band parent. Bubba also enjoyed working out and hunting when he had the time. He was a Christian man who was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church where he took part in "Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministry." Bubba devoted much of his time to serving his community. He was a proud business owner of Simpson's Welding for 30 years and was considered to be quite the handyman. He was the type of person who would help anyone in need. In his later years, his favorite hobbies included spending time with his beautiful grandchildren. Bubba will be truly missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
