Sammy Boyce "Duke" Faulkenbury, 66, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024. He was born in Union County on August 17, 1957, a son to the late Heath and Mary Lois Plyler Faulkenbury, also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Hattie Threatt Plyler, paternal grandparents, Ed and Luke McCray Faulkenbury, one nephew, one niece and a special friend Wanda Funderburk Agerton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 24th, 2024 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:30pm.
Duke was a skilled carpenter, loved vintage cars and was an avid motorcyclist. He loved drinking milkshakes and eating ice cream sandwiches. Taking his grandkids fishing to the pond was his favorite activity.
Duke is survived by a daughter, Sammie Joe Faulkenbury Stamey (Adam), a grandson, Memphis Alvarez, granddaughters, Patience Stamey, Makenna Stamey, Payton Stamey, a brother, Bruce Faulkenbury, two sisters, Carolyn Faulkenbury Clark, Tammy Faulkenbury Lee (Steve), two nephews, one niece, two great Nephews and two great nieces.
