Obituary

Ronald Braxton Parker, (68), peacefully fell into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family on June 14, 2023.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church, 3805 Corinth Church Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

Ronny was born March 2, 1955 to Jimmy and Deane Parker. He was a lifelong resident of Union County.

Ronny was a truck driver most of his adult life, which he took much pride in. He owned his own trucking company for many years, Ronny Parker Trucking. He later went on to truck for Frito-Lay, Inc. where he had some of his best working memories. He proudly received an achievement award for 1,000,000 miles Accident Free from Frito Lay. He also was a truck driver for Concrete Supply of Monroe and Nucor of Wingate. He retired from Nucor in 2017.

Ronny had a huge love for NASCAR racing. One of his best memories was when he got to have the NASCAR experience and drive a few laps around the track in a race car at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He always had a love for all things, FAST, including his prize possessions, his Chopper and later in life his Harley. Ronny loved the beach. His favorite vacation spot was the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach. That was his "happy place".

Ronny shared a very special bond with his son, Shane. Shane was his main caretaker throughout his cancer journey and it meant so much to him to be able to share that time with Shane. Ronny loved his family with all of his heart and he cherished the times he had with them. He truly lived a full and happy life.

Ronny is survived by his wife of 14 years, Linda Parker, his son, Shane Parker (Monica), granddaughters Ansley and Mazie, his daughter, Misty Parker, grandson Ryan, and long time friend and mother of his children, Pam Parker. He is also survived by his father, Jimmy Parker of Monroe, his sisters, Tammy Jones and Lisa Brantley (Mike), and his nieces and nephew and his great niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deane Parker and his nephew, Phillip Jones.

Ronny loved his family with all of his heart. He was loved by many and he will truly be missed, but never forgotten.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, calls, texts and visits. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Tilia Allen and Lee Kiser of Union County Hospice for all their loving care for Ronny and our family during this difficult time.
