Ronald Eugene Helms, 62, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was born May 21, 1959 to the late Lawrence Edgar Helms Jr. and Nancy Helms. Ronald is also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Helms; sister, Wanda Manus; paternal grandparents, Lawerence and Aleana Helms; maternal grandparents, Rob and Georgia Helms. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00pm on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at New Salem Baptist Church, 2915 Goldmine Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 4:45pm Sunday prior to the beginning of the service. Ronald is survived by his mother, Betty Helms; daughter, Candace Dillon (Christopher); brothers, Randy Helms, and Kenneth Starnes (Melinda); grandchildren, Alyssa Dillon, Kaleb Dillon, and Kayden Helms; and life-long friend, Betty Long. Those who knew and loved Ronald would say he was a kind and hard working man. He was the absolute best roofer Union County had to offer. When he was working he loved to take his chances with lottery tickets. Ronald took an interest in many things, but he had a special interest in Native American collectables; he even once had a life-size statue of a Native American Indian in his home. Ronald's family rests easy knowing that he is at peace and finally in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He will be truly missed. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Helms Family.
