Ricky James Mungo, 67, of Monroe, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. Ricky was born February 3, 1954 and was the son of the late Lee Willard and Betty Mungo of Monroe, NC. In addition to his parents, Ricky is also preceded in death by his brother, Lee Mungo Jr. and sister, Marilyn Mungo. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on October 2, 2021 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Monroe, NC. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Gilliland (David); granddaughter, Starr Kuhlmann (Skye); grandson, Sheldon Hooks; great-grandkids, Gabe, Maddie, and River Harvey, and Haze Kuhlmann, and unborn great-granddaughter, Stevie; sister, Donna Hartley (Sam), Pat Baucom (Shelly); a number of nieces and nephews; former wife and friend, Gale Mungo; and four-legged companion, Foxy. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the Mungo Family.
