Richard Edward "Rick" Starnes June 25, 1954 – March 9, 2021   We are saddened to announce that Rick Starnes passed away peacefully at his home on March 9, 2021 in Waxhaw, NC.  Rick Starnes was born to John Wesley and Gertrude Cox Starnes at Union Memorial in Monroe, North Carolina on June 25, 1954. Services will be held from the graveside at 2:00pm on March 13, 2021 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5300 Nesbit Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will visit with friends at the church arbor at the conclusion of the service.   Rick was a hard-working individual that was full of life.  He enjoyed working on the farm and spending time with his family. He was a devoted father to his sons Lucas and Darick.  He taught them the value of hard work, which was introduced to them at a young age. If the sun was up, Rick was outside working.  Each day ended with front porch sitting with wife Kathy and dog Murphy.     He is survived by: his lovely wife Kathy; his children Lucas Starnes and his wife Ashley of Shelby, NC, and Darick Starnes of Waxhaw, NC and his girlfriend Jamie Howell of Monroe, NC; his siblings Johnnie Everhardt and her husband Jack of Mint Hill, NC; and also Tommy Starnes of Waxhaw, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Gertrude Cox Starnes and sister Diane Starnes.   Rick will be missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.  We must say, Rick was taken from us too early, but we are thankful for the short full life we had with him. His legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
