Richard Smith Quick 79 of Marshville, NC received the gracious reward of heaven on April 8, 2023 at 8:50 am with his wife by his side. He fought many battles with his health over many years. Praise the Lord he is free! No more walkers, wheelchairs, hearing aids, or hospital beds. Completely healed!

Richard is predeceased by his parents Randy "Patsy" Quick and Adelaide Agusta "Dixie" Gay. He is also predeceased by his sisters Audna Quick and Lucy Kimbrell.

After he was honorably discharged from the US Air Force, he worked many years in industry before becoming a Paramedic with Union Emergency Medical Services He was "B" Shift Supervisor as well as a SWAT Medic and a member of the Honor Guard. He was also a Basic EMS Instructor. He was tough but gentle and wanted everyone to do their best. His free time was spent making "beach money" pressure washing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 26 years Dana, daughters Catherine Harlan of Waynesville, NC, Melissa Quick (Julie) of Indian Trail, NC, and Lauren Hagler (Michael) of Marshville, NC, grandchildren Morgan, Shelby, Zack, and Sydney, and in-laws turned best friends Jack and Louise Baucom.

As Richard's body began to turn on him, he still felt the need to minister. He kept his "book of numbers" and his "dumb phone" next to his bed. Next thing I knew, he was laughing and joking with whoever was on the phone. He never wanted to feel sorry for himself. It was always about the other person. Richard wants everyone to experience the joy, the laughter, and the sheer Glory that abounds in heaven that he is now experiencing.

Let Richard's service today be a celebration of life. His life and the life you can have…simply by asking. Please don't wait. Do it today.
