Richard Andrew Autry of Union County, age 38, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2022. Richard was born in Mecklenburg County on June 17, 1984, to the late Richard "Reggie" Autry Jr. and the late Sandra Carrier Autry. Richard Andrew is survived by his grandmother, Gladys Autry of Monroe, and the late Richard Autry Sr. also of Monroe, his aunt, Denise Tatum of Carolina Beach, and several cousins. Richard grew up on his grandparents' tree farm in Union County where he developed his love of the outdoors. Richard Andrew loved to cook. He was an excellent chef and could make something from almost nothing - give him some meat and veggies and you were sure to have a gourmet meal within the hour. He loved cooking for his granny on the grill. Richard went to culinary school to further his education, however, his true love was working in the fire sprinkler business. Andrew accepted the Lord at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church through Ed Sieber teaching the word during VBS. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery on Eubanks Road in Monroe, NC. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Autry Family.
