Mr. Raymond Charles Toro, 76, of Waxhaw, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday December 9, 2023, with military honors from 11:30 to 1:30 PM in the Winston Chapel of Holland Funeral Service 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC 28112, followed by a reception at Spiro's Hilltop Fish Fare & Steakhouse 1602 E. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28112 from 1:30-4:00 pm.

Raymond was born in NY, NY to Iris Colon and Raymond Toro. At 19 years old, Raymond served in the U.S Air Force Security Forces as a Military Police during Vietnam. He was married to Christine Leadbeater and raised their family in Brooklyn, NY. He moved to Yonkers, NY, where he proudly retired from the United States Postal Service. Three years ago, He and his wife, along with three of their daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren moved to Waxhaw, NC.

Raymond had a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he met. As a man of compassion, he never hesitated to help those he saw hurting or in need. Being a generous man, Raymond often asked family members and strangers alike, if they needed money and was quick to pull out a few bucks! He relied on the Lord in everything and was a man of prayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Perez, son-in-law, Michael Reeve, and sister-in-law, Margarita Leadbeater. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Christine; daughters Desiree (Daniel), Christina (Vincente), Leesa (Sean) and Laura (Jason); grandchildren, Chase, Jason, Vincente, Charlie, Grace, Kylie, Matty, Skylar, Nova, Silas, Hailey, and Autumn; and many special In-Laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
