Paul Richard "Rick" McClendon, age 64, passed away March 7th, 2022, at Atrium Health Union after a month-long battle of covid complications. Born in Mt.Juliet, TN on March 16, 1957, he was a resident of NC for about 31 years. Rick was an avid powerlifter with many NC records. He was a passionate fan of the Tennessee Volunteers football team. He loved his Ford Mustangs and had a love for drag racing. He spoiled and loved his fur babies, Sophia and Puppy. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, David & Claire (Meanie) McClendon and brother David Ray McClendon of Mt. Juliet TN . He is survived by his wife Regina Sikes McClendon, of the home and sons, Ronnie (Jodie) McClendon of Gallatin TN, Paul (Luz) McClendon of Charlotte, NC and Garrick McClendon of Monroe, NC. Also survived by brother, Doug McClendon, Roger (Wanda) McClendon, and sister Judy (Terry) Jenkins all of TN, and many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the McClendon home in Monroe, NC. We will receive friends from 2:00pm-6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered for medical expenses or a charity of your choice in Rick's name.
