Paul Mason Floyd, 80, of Marshville, died August 10, 2022, at Atrium Health Union, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Floyd was born August 25, 1941, in Wadesboro, North Carolina, to John and Margie Floyd.
For over 30 years he enjoyed being a mentor for the children in his community by coaching little league baseball, flag football, and pulling chains for the Forest Hills football team.
He loved sports and fishing as well as spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lavonne Floyd, of Marshville; his daughters, Annette Forester (Jeff) and Christy Mabe; his grandchildren, Amanda Forester, Jamie McGriff (Qua), Courtney Nelson (Dylan), Ryan Mabe (Tiffany), and Brandi Mabe; as well as great-grandchildren, Ember (Skeeter), Aubrey (Rosebud), Sophia (Peanut), Brooklyn (Tater), and Daxton (Petey).
He was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Margie; his brother, Robert; his niece, Janet; and son-in-law, Rex Allen.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Philadelphia Baptist Church. The family will receive guests from 2:00 - 3:45. Mr. Floyd will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the church cemetery.
