In Loving Memory of Parley Steven Brown

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Parley Steven Brown, a man whose spirit was a force of nature and whose heart was as vast as the ocean. He passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 62. Born with an unbreakable spirit and unstoppable energy, he lived life at full throttle. Riding the waves in California and Hawaii, carving through snow-covered mountains in North Carolina, and cruising on his skateboard with effortless style. Whether on a board, in the stands, or with his family, he embraced life with fierce passion and unwavering love.

A devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather, Steve was the rock of our family. His love knew no limits, he protected us fiercely, gave us strength in times of trouble, and always had our backs. He was our safe place, our guardian, and our greatest defender. Whether we were struggling with school, heartache, or life's twists and turns, he was there with advice, encouragement, and a reminder to always take care of our teeth.

Louder than life and larger than legend, Steve was the heartbeat of every room he entered. His booming laughter, quick wit, and boundless energy were impossible to ignore. He lived for concerts, friendly Jenga rivalries, sipping on moonshine, and moments spent with family. His love for his wife was unwavering, and his gratitude toward veterans was a testament to his deep respect for those who served.

He was a die-hard fan of North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball and Las Vegas Raiders, always cheering on his teams with an intensity that could shake the room. His faithful companion, Bam Bam, was always by his side and his true partner in crime.

Selfless and fearless, Steve always fought for his family, ensuring we had every opportunity to succeed. He taught us to chase our education, stand up for what's right, and never back down from a challenge. His fierceness was matched only by his kindness, and his legacy of love, protection, and unyielding devotion will live on in all of us. To know Steve was to know a man who truly lived. Whether he was telling stories that made you cry with laughter, offering a helping hand without being asked, or simply lighting up a room with his presence, he left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Brown. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Brown, and his daughters and son, Hannah Brown, Skyler Brown, and Devyn Chapman. He was a beloved "Pops" to his grandchildren: Sayler Stringer, Nova Moree, Bentley Moree, and Harmony Moree. He is also survived by his sisters, Vickie Metzger and Amy Brown, and his brother, Mike Brown.

Though he has left this world, his adventurous spirit, love, and endless humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his spirit forever ride the waves, carve through the snow, and echo in the music he loved in the great beyond.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held on April 19, 2025, at Holland Funeral Service & Crematory, 806 Circle Dr., Monroe, NC 28112, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In honor of his memory, we invite family and friends to share their favorite stories and raise a glass to a life well lived.
