Mr. Ned Haney, 83, passed away December 11, 2020. Ned was born in Marshville, NC on August 22, 1937 to the late Bill and Faye Haney. Ned was a fierce competitor on the race track as he drove the #22 Blue Angel to over 100 victories. He was an avid fisherman and cherished his time spent with family, friends and his pet squirrels, Earl and Fred. One of his passions in life was making homemade ice cream and sharing with family, friends and neighbors. Ned was a lifetime member of Centerview Baptist Church. An outside service to celebrate Ned's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshville. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the cemetery. Ned is survived by his daughters, Paige Haney Staton (John), Ashley Haney Traywick (Tommy); grandchildren, Austin Perkins, Dustin Perkins, Dalton Davis, Daniel Davis, Cheyenne French, and Chloe Traywick; greatgrandchildren, Kaiden Perkins, Camden Henkle, and Paislee Perkins; brothers, Charles Haney (Pat),Sherrill Haney (Barbara); sisters, Nancy Mangum (Jimmy), and Hilda Edwards; special friend, Vivian Knight; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in passing by his wife of 59 years, Betty Taylor Haney, and his brother-in-law William Edwards. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, 2711 Old Pageland Marshville Road, Marshville, NC 28103. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
