It is with sadness we announce the passing of Nathan Charles Ross. Nathan was a lot of things to a lot of people. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a nephew, a veteran, a dear friend to many, a musician, an artist, a philosopher, a thinker, a lyricist, a guitarist, a modern day real life bard, my friend and oldest brother, first born to loving parents.
Nathan grew up in a small town with close friends in 1982. He was a wild '80s kid and a '90s grunge skater rebel. He listened to music ranging from MC Hammer to Nirvana to Korn and Shine Down. He was a lover of music and a creator. He moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina with his brothers and parents in 1996 where he made many close friendships that would last a lifetime. He joined the Navy shortly after graduation from high school. He served honorably on the USS George Washington. After leaving the Navy Nathan tried many different jobs working with his hands including airplane mechanic, car mechanic, and stone worker. However his true passion was making music and dreaming of touching others lives with the sound of his soul. In his final year, Nathan had the pleasure of meeting a group of men he would come to call his closest friends, his band. Nathan was the vocalist, though he also enjoyed guitar. His friends/band Andrew, John and Gary gave Nathan joy and happiness.
Nathan unfortunately and tragically passed away January 16th 2021 leaving behind his parents George (Kim) Ross, his brother Matthew (Kristi) Ross, his brother Andrew (Sarah) Ross and his favorite people in this world, his nephews Alexander and Nikola Ross. Nathan also left behind his old friend and faithful companion Titus. Nathan Ross is also survived by his grandmother Billie Mobley, and many aunts, cousins and an uncle that loved him dearly.
Nathan will be interred at Fort Jackson national cemetery on Friday the 12th at 3pm
