Mr. Michael Grover Brooks, 70, passed away October 25, 2025. He was born December 3, 1954 to the late Jason and Frances Brooks.

A lifelong craftsman, Mike dedicated his career to the construction industry, where his precision, hard work, and pride in every detail earned him deep respect from those who knew him. He had a gift for building things that would last—both in the physical sense and in the relationships he forged through honesty, loyalty, and dedication. Mike was known for his meticulous approach to his work and for always insisting that any job worth doing was worth doing right.

Mike was also a Mason, a man of quiet strength, brotherhood, and integrity. Outside of work, he found great joy and freedom in riding motorcycles, often describing it as his way to clear his mind and enjoy the open road.

Most importantly, Mike accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and made a public profession of faith, proudly declaring the One in whom he placed his eternal trust. His family takes comfort in knowing that his journey is complete and that he now rests in peace with his Lord.

Mike is survived by his daughter Misha Brooks Rushing (Brent) and his grandchildren, Levi Rushing and Lincoln Rushing, who were the light of his life. Also former wife now friend, Susie Brooks, brothers-in-law, Gene Scott, and James Scott; nieces, Susan Tyson and Pam Crump, and nephew, Jimmy Scott.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in passing by his sisters, Barbara Scott, Betty Scott, and Patricia Hill, and brother, Oleen Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Holland Funeral Service, located at 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Brooks will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park and Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 PM.

Mike's life was one of craftsmanship, faith, and love for family. His legacy will live on through the things he built, the lessons he taught, and the many lives he touched.
