Michael Wayne Wooten, 77, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on April 18, 2025. He was born September 25, 1947 in Monroe, North Carolina, to the late Harold and Minnie Wooten. Michael was a proud veteran. He was a Corporal in the Unites States Marines from October 27, 1966 until being honorably discharged October 25, 1968. Michael's duty included being a front-line mortar carrier. During his military career he earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Rifle Expert Badge. Michael was a man of many talents and loved his family and friends. He would give and do without for someone in need. He loved making jokes, pranks, and making people happy. He was a jack of all trades and mastered them all. Michael will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held with full Military Honors at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at American Legion Post-535, 6112 Concord Highway, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the American Legion from 2:00pm until 2:45pm.

Michael is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Joyce Starnes Wooten, sister, Sylvia Wooten Tarlton, father, Harold Vincent Wooten, and mother, Minnie Mical Wooten.

He is survived by his children, Christa Wooten Keziah (Randy Keziah), Vickie Wooten Philemon, and Stacey Wooten Davis (Doug Davis); grandchildren, Casey Keziah Lacerte (Nathan Lacerte), D.J. Davis, and Josie Davis; great-grandchildren, Dylan Lacerte, and Annalise Lacerte; and sister, Cathy Wooten Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
