Michael Jason "Bull" Mullis Passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 surrounded by family. Jason was born on September 8, 1975 to Stephen and Joyce Mullis. In his short time, Jason lived a full life. He was a highly regarded public utilities professional, an influential town council member, an avid hunter, outdoorsman, traveler, and a mentor to all. Jason dedicated his life to serving others, and embodying the true meaning of friendship and faith. He always had a strong impact on everyone he met. Whether he had known you for twenty minutes, or twenty years, he considered everyone a lifelong friend. He was kind, compassionate, and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had an unforgettable personality, and was always the life of the party. As so many people knew, there has never been a problem that couldn't be solved by a talk with Jason. He was very straightforward, and may not have told you what you wanted to hear, but what you needed to hear.
Jason is defined by his incredible selflessness. He always put others' needs before his own. A man of profound faith, his love for God and family guided his every action. His commitment for service extended far into the community. His work was an extension of his desire to serve. He spent his life making the world a better place. Jason leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and a strong work ethic that will continue to inspire all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jason is preceded in death by his grandparents Wade (Margie) Elms, and Sam (Lois) Mullis. He is survived by his sons Christopher Mullis of New Bern NC, and Justin Mullis of Unionville NC; His "Sugar Momma Shurry" Sherry Horne of Peachland NC; His baby brother Jesse (Candis) Mullis of Peachland NC, who took great care of him following his diagnosis; Donna Singletary Hope Mills NC; Pam & David Edwards Marshville NC; Debra Fletcher Sanford NC; Donna & Ross Mcdowell Middlesex NC; Ann & Jerry Catoe Abbeville SC; Kathy & Larry Lindley Siler City NC; Jeff & Laurie Mullis Myrtle Beach SC; Charles & Tami Mullis Franklinville NC; Sandra Suddarth Sandford NC; Chassidy (Roy) , Tyler (Kacie) , Madison, Aiden, Lexi, Kiara, Chance, Kaiden, Emmy, Apollo, Shay, Henry, and far too many special friends to count. Donations can be made in his honor to Ground 40, Hands of a Sportsman, and the Friends of Anson County Animal Shelter.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 12:00pm on December 13th, 2025, at Holland Funeral Service in Marshville,136 E. Main Street, Marshville, NC 28103
