Michael Glenn Black, 58, passed away March 3, 2025. He was born in Union County, North Carolina on September 27, 1966. Michael was a man who loved his family and took pride in raising his two sons, Fate and Stephen. He was a proud member of his community where he served as a Sheriff's Deputy and DARE Officer with the Union County Sheriff's Office. Additionally, he served as a Firefighter and EMT with the Unionville, Lanes Creek, Fairview , and Sandy Ridge Volunteer Fire Departments. He also worked happily at Simpsons Eggs. When he wasn't working, Michael could be found substitute teaching in Union County Schools and volunteering his time with his sons at the Robin Sage Training Exercise. Michael will be deeply missed in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:45am on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Following the visitation, funeral services will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Holland Funeral Service. Mr. Black will be laid to rest privately following the service.

Michael is preceded in passing by his father, Jim Black.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Black; sons, Fate Black (Naomi Black), and Stephen Black; and sister, Janice Conrad (Darren Conrad).
