IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mr. Marvin "Howard"
Tarlton
July 17, 1934 – December 27, 2024
Marvin "Howard" Tarlton gained his wings on Friday, December 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born July 17, 1934 in Union County. He was the son of the late Winfred David and Beddie Esther Green Tarlton. Howard was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He was a Godly man of strong faith. He attended Unionville Baptist Church where he served as a church deacon and trustee. Most recently he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he attended faithfully for 12 years until his health began to decline in 2021. Howard was also a hard and dedicated worker. After getting out of school at the age of 16, Howard went to work for Charlotte Pipe & Foundry. He later went on to work as a skilled brick mason for many years. In Howard's later years he worked in carpentry and could often be found working hand-and-hand with his wife, Dottie. When Howard wasn't working, he dedicated most of his time to his wife. The two were inseparable; they cherished every moment they were able to spend traveling together, gardening, and canning their home-grown veggies. When their daytime adventures were done, and it came time for dinner, Dottie and Howard would share in a word of prayer always followed by a sweet kiss. Howard also enjoyed the little things. He loved fishing, and hunting, and riding golfcarts. Howard will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church, 2613 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110.
