Loyd Carroll Thomas

Carroll Thomas, 75, met his Jesus and his loved ones on October 22, 2025. He was born April 12, 1950, to the late Henry Alexander Thomas and Ona Lee Pressley Thomas.

In addition to his parents, Carroll was reunited in heaven with his siblings, Johnnie Tarlton, Jerry Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Harold Thomas, Phylis Thomas, Ricky Thomas, his unborn child, Angel. His living siblings are Larry Thomas, Dennis Thomas, Debbie Thomas and Vickie Thomas.

Carroll is survived by his son, Donald Matthew Thomas, Matthew's wife Jessica Lynn Thomas with their daughter, Destiny Mae Thomas and son, Jonathan Lee Thomas. Carroll leaves numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Carroll's niece, Fran Shearin, was his caretaker during his illness at her family home with her husband Jeff, son Dale and their grandchild, Destiny.

Carroll attended Harmony Community Church for numerous years. He was at church every time the doors opened. Near the end of Carroll's life, his niece and caretaker, Fran Shearin would take him to church in his wheelchair. When he was able, he would serve his Lord by always being available to do repairs on the church where he worshiped.

Carroll worked as a truck driver in his younger years and worked at Ray Thomas Construction until he became self-employed. He was known as a top-notch Handy Man and able to build anything requested of him. He spent many hours maintaining the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Marshville and developed special friendships with staff and customers. Everyone in Marshville knew the old Ford diesel work truck as he traveled from job to job. Besides working, Carroll loved hunting and fishing. Even in his later days, he would ask to sit outside where he felt closer to God.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Harmony Community Church, 1984 Pulpwood Yard, Peachland, NC 28133. The family will receive family and friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 3:00pm until 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carroll's Honor to Harmony Community Church, 1984 Pulpwood Yard, Peachland, NC 28133.
