IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mr. Larry Robert
Quinn
August 5, 1949 – November 19, 2023
Larry Robert Quinn passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, 11/19/23 surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1949 in Hendersonville, NC to Jean Clayton (JC) and Ophelia Ballard Quinn. Even though he was an only child, his Ballard aunts, uncles and cousins played an influential role in his life. Larry attended Gardner Webb College in Shelby, NC, but found his true calling as a car salesman, eventually owning Quinn's Covenant Cars in Monroe. Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping, horseback riding and tending to his swimming pool. A man of God, Larry found comfort and strength in his Christian faith and loved Joy Christian Fellowship Church. He championed Life and the call to ministry for the unborn and their mothers, alongside his wife through the HELP Pregnancy Center, which they founded 32 years ago. Not only was he a wonderful husband and father, but he was also an amazing Pawpaw to 11 grandchildren, ranging in age from 8 months old to 23 years old. Larry's dry sense of humor and ability to deflect attention from himself remained with him to the very end. He had an insatiable sweet tooth, with top favorites being mint chocolate chip ice cream, pound cake and cookies.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Joy Christian Fellowship Church, 11516 Idlewild Rd, Matthews, NC 28105. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:00pm until 12:45pm.
Larry Quinn is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tara Quinn, and children Nicole Clyncke (husband Jon), Clay Quinn (wife Andrea), Aaron Quinn (wife Bethany), Diana Prydhodko (husband Oleg), and Charlie Smith (fiancé Wein). Grandchildren: Matthew, Ben(preceded in death), Alexis, Wyatt, Walker, Waylon, Jane, Levi, Noah, Evelyn, and Leah.
Larry's favorite scripture was: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future and a good end.'" Jeremiah 29:11
