Larry Ronald Mangum, lovingly known as Ronnie, 75, of Monroe, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 6, 2023. Ronnie was born in Union County on February 2, 1948, son to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Autry Mangum. He is also preceded in death by all his siblings, Charles Mangum, Joanne Jordon, Sammy "Millon" Mangum, Sherrill Mangum, and Gary Mangum.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Holland Funeral Service, Winston Chapel with burial with military honors in Lakeland Memorial Park. Rev. Mac Mullis and Tony Funderburk will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM at Holland Funeral Service.

Ronnie was very active at a young age with the Philadelphia Baptist Church Youth. He enjoyed visiting with his siblings and family gatherings and everything involving good food. He was a construction company owner, craftsman, and builder. Ronnie loved the outdoors, especially bird watching, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed antique tractors, tools and equipment. He was fond of the outdoors, mowing grass and was quick to tell dad jokes.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patsy Rape Mangum, children, Meredith Mangum Deaner (Jason) of Mt. Pleasant, SC Jennifer Marie Mangum (Kent Werth) of Simpsonville, SC, two grandchildren, Patty and Paige; step-children, Mark Page (Erika) of Concord, Amy Manus (John) of Marshville, Caryn Horne (Chris) of Peachland, NC, Rick Page (Nicole) of Gaffney, SC, 11 bonus grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or to the American Heart Association.
