Kevin Eugene Helms, 37, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. He was born in Union County on March 22, 1984 to Ronald Eugene Helms and Phyllis Denise Wallace Helms. Kevin is also preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Junior Helms. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Helms will be held at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Union Baptist Association, 1744 Williams Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00pm until 5:15pm at the Union Baptist Association. In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his son, Kayden Helms; sister, Candace Dillon (Christopher); niece, Alyssa Dillon; nephew, Kaleb Dillon; grandmother, Betty Helms; honorary stepfather, Tim Mayzes; mother of his child, Krista Wallace; special aunts, Donna Sherrin, and Delores Ballew; and many other special family members and friends. Kevin was a kind and gentle man. He loved his family and his son, Kayden, more than anything in the world. Anyone who knew Kevin, knew him to be a man who knew no strangers. He was a man who treated everyone with respect and kindness; it was hard to not love him. Kevin enjoyed many things in life, but he loved to ride his motorcycle.
