Mr. Kevin Jay Greene, 61, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born September 25, 1959 in Union County to the late John Vann Greene Jr. and Letha Baucom Greene. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Greene will be announced shortly. Kevin is survived by his beloved significant other of seven years, Pamela Balek; daughter, Alecia Locklear; siblings, Johnny Cole Greene (Sheila), Gail Greene Little (Danny), Randy Cleveland Greene (Sonya); two grandchildren, Destiny and Jerimiah; twelve nieces and nephews; and his sweet dog, Sadie. Kevin was a very talented and artistic man. He loved to draw and paint and could do so very well. He also worked as a rock mason for over thirty years. Kevin had a passion for his job and considered it to be an art form. All those who knew Kevin referred to him as, "Grasshopper." He was given that nickname by his friends and family because one could often find in relaxing in a squat. Kevin would squat while he was working or just relaxing at the house. The squat was just another try art form that Kevin had mastered that no one else, except his grandfather, were ever able to replicate. When Kevin was not working, he could be found rabbit hunting. Although he loved to hunt, he also had a love for animals. Kevin would often tell Pam that he wished he had more land so that he could rescue every dog and cat from the pound. Even though Kevin was known to be a private person, he has many family and friends that will miss him dearly and love him always.
