Jonathan Lee May,46, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2022. He was born on February 17, 1976 to Homer Lee May & Linda Kay Austin. Jonathan worked in the field of Geological Surveying. He enjoyed making people laugh, participating in the Drexel Fair (NC) gourd competition, and being with friends. He recently rejoined the workforce and was progressing towards his life goals. Jonathan will be missed as a brother, uncle, co-worker, and friend to those who truly knew him.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandparents Creed May, Missouria Elrod May, Claude Austin, and Hilda Austin, his parents Homer Lee May, Linda Kay May, sister Susan May and brother David Lee May. He is also survived by his brothers Michael May (Tara) of VA and Scott May (Mindilu) of MO, nieces and nephews Ashley, Ryan, Austin, Brittany, Brianna, Michael, Bailey, J. Austin, Linzilu, Jordyn, Mason, and a great niece Riley; along with several aunts, uncles, and friends.

A private celebration of life will be held in his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Charlotte, NC.
