John Thomas Burnette Jr. (Tommy) 74, of Indian Trail passed away June 18, 2022. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6pm on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Joy Church with Pastor McLean Faw officiating. The visitation/viewing will precede celebration at 5:00 pm.
Born February 16, 1948 in Bibb County, Georgia he was the son of John Thomas Burnette Sr. and Mary of Charlotte.
Tommy was owner of Burnette's Heating & Cooling (HVAC). He worked hard and loved hard. He enjoyed the beach, playing golf, and most importantly spoiling his family and friends with his love and attention. Tommy had an open heart and an open door where everyone was welcomed. He woke every morning with the joy of the Lord. He had a fantastic sense of humor and loved to be the first to tell you a new joke. He was a prankster. He was known by all that met him as being a generous man with his time, gifts, and resources.
He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Donna Burnette of the home, daughter Kimberly Dellinger (David), son Jeremy Burnette, and daughter Sommer Farmer (Donnie), grandchildren: Grayson Pressley (Kasey), Brooke Pressley, Lauren Pressley, Jada Burnette, Jastin Farmer, Jet Burnette, Jewel Burnette, Annystin Farmer, Kyland (Bama) Burnette, Jenyx Burnette, Bentley Burnette, Ashur Farmer, and Krimsyn Farmer, great-grandchildren: Skyler Robinson, Sawyer Robinson, Linkin Tomlinson, Jaylen Robinson, Oakden Pressley, Alexander Tomlinson, and Alaya Featherson, brother Ricky Burnette (Sandy), honorary sisters: Pat Mayberry and Lisa Averett.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Thomas Burnette Sr. and Mary, son John Thomas Burnette, III and son Kyle Bama Burnette.
