John William Tallent, 69, passed from this world on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, following an extended illness. He was born in Charlotte, NC on June 13, 1954. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Tallent.

Funeral services will be private.

John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Robin Williams Tallent, a son, Jonathan Tallent (Meghan), stepdaughter, Jackie Hagin (Billy), grandchildren, Gabriel Tallent, Fallon Hagin, Shae Wall (Matthew), Duran Hagin (Aubrey), Troy Hagin, great grandchildren, Caroline & Kenneth Wall, Maybrey Hagin, a sister, Gail Tallent (Ronnie), sister-in-law, Joy Plyler (Billy) and many nieces and nephews.

John retired after working in Photo Processing. From 1989 to 1995, John was a well-respected freelance photographer for the NASCAR racing series-based publication, "Winston Cup Scene" and "Winston Cup Illustrated". During his tenue there he produced the highest quality work and made many lifetime friends.

John was a friendly, peace-loving soul, always ready to talk to anyone. He was a very kind and patient man.
