John C Renegar, 83, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on January 17th, 2022 at Atrium Health Union. He is the husband of Mary T Renegar, & they shared 62 beautiful years of marriage together. John was born on November 23rd, 1938 in Statesville, NC, the son of Elizabeth Westmoreland James & John Ray Renegar. John worked and retired from BB&T bank, where he gave 35 years of his life. John will be remembered as the most loving, devoted, & attentive husband, Dad, & Pawpaw to all of his girls. He enjoyed spending Summers at the lake, driving his boats, & even skiing barefoot. He was happiest with a dog in his lap, or outside surrounded by nature & wildlife. He taught every child & grandchild how to drive, and always made sure he was wearing something with pockets (& probably had a few pieces of candy on him, too). John is survived by his wife Mary, child Angelia (Roger) Davis, grandchildren Kristen, Leslie, Britney, Addison, great grandchildren Madeline & Eliza, & beloved dog Buddy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Westmoreland James, and his daughter Rosalind Kletter. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:45 PM on Monday January 24, 2022 at Holland Funeral Service & Crematory. The service will begin at 1:00 PM following the visitation. Mr. Renegar will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Union County Humane Society. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
