Monroe - Mr. John Roger Funderburk, 89, died December 22, 2022, at Hospice of Union County. Born September 10, 1933 in Union County, he was the son of the late Thomas Kemp Funderburk and Louise Rorie Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lou Anne Brooks Funderburk, brother, Carol Funderburk, and grandson, Seth Rummage.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church with a private burial to follow at Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45pm.

Mr. Funderburk is survived by his wife, Joyce Deese Funderburk of the home, daughters, Ivy F. Allen of Marshville, and Leah F. Rummage and her husband Todd Rummage of Marshville; grandchildren, Shelby Rummage (Marivy) of Marshville, Cameron Allen of Marshville, and Landon Allen of Marshville.
