John Mark Biggers, 60, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully from pulmonary fibrosis November 27, 2022 at Hospice of Union County.
Mark was born December 3, 1961 in Charlotte, NC to Johnny and Betty Biggers.
He attended Independence High School in Charlotte, NC. He continued his education at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and earned his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Mark loved music and singing about our God. In past years, Mark was very active in his church. He was a deacon, choir member, and led various groups and activities. Mark loved sports and was a die hard Atlanta Braves and Duke Blue Devils fan.
Due to Mark's health issues, he was unable to work when his children, Sarah and Jonathan were younger giving him more precious time with them and counted himself truly blessed. He later became Papa to Lexi and Addie, whom he lovingly adored and cherished every moment with them.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Betty Biggers. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Melanie Davis Biggers of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Sarah Biggers Yeargin (Brandon) of Monroe, NC; son, Jonathan Biggers of Charlotte, NC; two granddaughters, Lexi and Addie Yeargin of Monroe, NC; and mother-in-law Dottie Goss of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Brian Biggers (Kay) of Graham, NC; niece, Whitney Biggers Rutter (Jon); of Burlington, NC; niece, Emily Loman (Collin) of Gibsonville, NC; nephew, Caleb Biggers of Newport, NC; great niece, Riley Hope of Gibsonville, NC and sister, Teresa Biggers of Lexington, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E. W. T. Harris Blvd in Charlotte, NC. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611. A tribute has been set up in Mark's name on help@pulmonaryfibrosis.org to accept online memorials.
