Joe Robert Burnett, 66, of Monroe, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Joe was born December 12, 1956, in Charlotte, NC, a son to George Marvin and Frances Drum Burnette. Joe was an avid songwriter, having written several songs. He was a huge NASCAR fan; his favorite driver was Derrell Waltrip and loved the Dallas Cowboys.

A celebration of life service will be held at the family residence at a later date.

Joe is survived by a brother, Michael Burnett of Monroe, two sisters, Dorothy Thompson of Monroe, Janice Carter and her husband William of Murrells Inlet, SC, and his cat, Gibby.
