Jimmy Lee Helms, 61, passed away August 17, 2024 in Marshville, North Carolina. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 20, 1963 to his parents, Joann Self Helms and the late Vander Lee Helms. Jimmy was a graduate of Sun Valley High School in Indian Trail, NC and later obtained numerous trade certifications. He worked for 28 years at Estul Tool Company as a machine operator and later went on to work as a machine operator at GM Nameplate for 8 years before retiring. When Jimmy wasn't working, he could often be found working in his garden or planting beautiful flowers and trees. Additionally, Jimmy was quite the collector. He collected metal scrap, vintage and rare money and coins from different time periods and countries, classic Cutlas Supreme cars, Chevy trucks, and nearly everything you can think of with Dale Earnhardt on it and other NASCAR memorabilia.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 12:00pm, at Holland Funeral Service located at 806 Circle Drive Monroe NC 28112 with burial to follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00am -11:45am at the funeral home.

Family to also receive friends and family at the home of his daughter, Sheila Jones. All friends and family welcome!

He is preceded in passing by his father, Vander Lee Helms, and sisters, Teresa Fowler and Linda Kay Helms.

In addition to his mother, Joann Self Helms, Jimmy is survived by his devoted daughter, Sheila Jones (Sven Jones), Marine son, Jimmy Helms (Jessica Helms); stepchildren, Lindsay Reeves, and Amanda Griffin; proud grandparent of Tiffany Starr, Jaden Jones, Mia Jones, Jace Helms, and Waylon Helms; brother, Michael Helms (Tammy Helms), uncle, Ray Helms, cousin, Scott Helms, nieces and nephews, Dianne Lacroix, Alexis Viracola, Joseph Viracola, Emma Dellinger, Gretchen Helms, Peyton Helms, Ashley Helms, Balli Viracola Brown and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.
