Jimmie Charles "Jim" Kuykendall, of Marshville, NC, passed on to his permanent home on January 5, 2023.

Jim was born December 14th, 1944, to Fred and Lucille Kuykendall, who he will be reunited with.

Jim served in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a retiree of the N.C. Wildlife Resource Commissions. He loved being outdoors, whether it was in his garden, hunting, fishing, or to listen to his coon dogs tracking in the night far away from everything. He was a very solitary man but had a deep love for gathering with friends and family around a campfire or wood stove telling old stories.

He is survived by his children: son, Jeff Kuykendall and daughter-in-law, Lori Kuykendall of Conover, along with grandchildren, Emma and Isaac, and great-granddaughter, Oakley; and son, Jody Kuykendall and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Kuykendall of Lenoir, along with granddaughters, Kylie and Karigan. He is also survived by Jeannie Jenkins, a very close and personal person to Jim.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastor John Miller officiating. The family respectfully requests any memorials be sent to Hospice of Union County-Atrium Health.
