A loving husband, a loyal friend, and an adored son, Jamie McCune unexpectedly lost his life Saturday November 21, 2020. He is the son of Hager McCune and Beth Ortiz born in Raleigh County, WV. Shortly after graduating from Oak Hill High school Jamie moved to Monroe, North Carolina where he met his wife Megan McCune.
Jamie and Megan have spent the past five years building their lives together. They could be described as both soul mates and best friends. Jamie and Megan valued their time spent with friends and family, as they were such a beloved couple. They jumped at any chance they got to be riding, regardless of it being a four wheeler, motorcycle, fast car, or a four wheel drive diesel truck. The couple also cherished date nights together, especially ones spent at Logan's Roadhouse. The love between the two of them is indescribable, there is no doubt they were a match made in heaven. Despite the fact that Jamie never thought he would be married, he soon realized his life would not have been complete without Megan. They got married April 21,2018 surrounded by the people they love.
Jamie was best known for his outgoing personality, compassion, and his undeniable support for his friends. There is no hiding that Jamie is and will be truly missed. His life will forever live on through his wife and community. We will continue to sing "country road take me home" until the day we are all singing together again.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Back to Bethel Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Jamie's life will begin at 1:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Jamie will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family asks that you dress casual as Jamie would have wanted.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Megan McCune; father, Hager Eugene McCune II; his mother, Beth Brubaker Ortiz (Jeff); and his husky, Tazz. The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained.
"I love you always and forever, forever and always" -Megan
