Mr. James Glenn Nance,85, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Friday February 7, 2025. He was born in Anson County North Carolina on April 19, 1939 to the late David and Lizzie Nance.
Glenn Nance was a hardworking man who dedicated 30 years to Edwards Lumber. He loved his garden, hunting, coaching little league, farm animals, and his grandchildren. He and Annette loved spending time in the mountains at Raccoon Holler campground.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance is preceded in passing by his son, Mark Nance, brother, Johnny Nance, sisters, Helen Nance Davis, and Marie Nance Baucom, and brothers-in-law, Gene Deese and Jimmy Edwards.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Annette Nance, daughter Sherry Nance Territo (David), son, Mike Nance (Cathy),daughter-in-law, Melonie Nance, grandchildren, Camron Nance (Brittany), Colby Nance (Amber), Chase Nance (Leanne), Rachel Nance, and William Nance; 5 great-grandchildren, siblings, Atlas Nance (Shirley), Mary Nance Deese, Henry Nance (Betty), Bonnie Nance Edwards, brother- in-law, Alan Baucom; and sister-in-law, Loretta Nance.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the wonderful caregivers from Home Instead and also the compassionate nurses from Hospice of Union County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairfield Community Baptist Church.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Fairfield Community Baptist Church located at 7208 Olive Branch Road, Marshville, NC 28103 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00am -11:45am.
