Obituary

Jimmy - James Donald Wyles, 71, of Monroe, NC, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born August 13, 1950 to the late John and Kate Wyles. He is also preceded in passing by his sister, Susan Wyles. He was a general contractor with a passion for building. He served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, children's church leader, and usher. Jimmy had a huge heart for his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Two verses that we underlined in his Bible were; Psalms 37: 23 - 24 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand." and Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." - These verses best describe Jimmy. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandy Wyles; two daughters, Dawn Hill (Mark Hill), and Christy Edobor; brother, Wayne Wyles; ten grandchildren, Chase & Emily Hill, Chadwick Hill, Morgan & Brian Elms, Skylar Hill, Bristol Hill, Jeff Hill, Dylan Medlin, Jake Medlin; and four great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Lakeland Memorial Park. Rev. David price is officiating. He will be missed, but as he wrote in his Bible, "God is in control, I will be OK." In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions made to Ground 40 are appreciated. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Wyles family.
