Obituary

James William Gaddis, Jr. Age 51, of Lancaster, SC passed away on Monday, May 10 2021. The family will be having a celebration of life ceremony at 12:00 on Saturday, May 15th at Sherwood Baptist Church in Lancaster with Pastor Rusty McAllister and Todd McElroy officiating. Jimmy or "Sumo" as he was affectionately known to many was born on September 29th, 1969 in Charlotte, NC. He was the son of Father, the late Mr. James William Gaddis, Sr. (wife Anna) and Mother, Valetta L. Flanagan. Jimmy had a career in the Logging Equipment/Diesel Mechanic industry as well as truck driving. He attended Sherwood Baptist Church of Lancaster, SC and loved being in the outdoors. He loved his animals – Yodi, Reese, Star (and the chihuahua empire), Number 7, and had recently fallen in love with raising chickens/ducks/guineas. He was a huge Dale Earnhardt, Carolina Panthers, and Heavy metal fan – And he Loved to ride his motorcycle! Jimmy poured his heart in to EVERYTHING he did and was famous for saying "whether you're the CEO or the janitor… do all you do to the best of your ability!" This was instilled in Jimmy at an early age, and he lived that way! Every employer he EVER had Adored him! He was a hard worker and a good friend! His faith and love for the Lord was above everything else! He was a wonderful husband, father, pawpaw, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed! Left to cherish Jimmy's memory are his loving wife, Terrie Fowler Gaddis, his children - Kirsten Cavallo and (fiancé Gray), Randall Gaddis (Jenny Burton), Brandon Gaddis, Raelynn Fowler and (fiancé Caleb). His grandchildren – Hayden Hinnant and Kinley Cavallo. Siblings – Tammy Hichman, and Maria Gaddis. Extended Siblings include – Anthony Grooms, Jodia Slater, Jason Simpson, Chris Simpson, and Todd McElroy: Numerous Nieces, Nephews, as well as loving relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the ASPCA.
